from its CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight) system to CDS, the Customs Declaration Service.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HMRC has advised that the CHIEF system is no longer fit for purpose.<\/p>\n<p>HMRC\u2019s closure of CHIEF is planned in two stages;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage 1:<\/strong> 30th September 2022 \u2013 Import declarations to close on CHIEF<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage 2:<\/strong> 31st March 2023 \u2013 Export declarations to close on CHIEF\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In its place, the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will serve as the UK&#8217;s single customs platform, with all businesses needing to declare goods through CDS\u00a0after\u00a031 March 2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column
