{"id":1550,"date":"2019-01-21T11:07:43","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T11:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/\/?p=1550"},"modified":"2022-02-02T11:07:06","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T11:07:06","slug":"making-sense-of-the-uncertainty-surrounding-brexit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delamode-anglia.com\/en\/making-sense-of-the-uncertainty-surrounding-brexit\/","title":{"rendered":"Making sense of the uncertainty surrounding Brexit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Following our last Brexit newsletter, the situation still remains unclear and as we move closer to the 29th March 2019 we need to consider the possible effects of the UK leaving the EU without an agreement, a so called \u201cno deal\u201d exit.\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Following our last Brexit newsletter, the situation still remains unclear and as we move closer to the 29th March 2019 we need to consider the possible effects of the UK leaving the EU without an agreement, a so called \u201cno deal\u201d exit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If the United Kingdom does leave the EU without an agreement, The World Trade Organisation route may become the default solution, in which case UK businesses will have to apply customs, excise and VAT processes to goods traded with the EU.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At Delamode we understand that our clients need to plan forward and need to introduce their own contingency plans should such an event arise.<\/p>\n<h3>What actions do you need to carry out to continue trading with the EU following a \u201cNo Deal\u201d exit.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure you have a EORI number. If you don\u2019t already have an EORI number you can apply for one free of charge by visiting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If you are buying from the EU, ask your supplier for their EORI number. Both EORI numbers will be required if Customs declarations are to be completed post Brexit.<\/li>\n<li>Review the size of your Duty\/VAT deferment account. Will it sustain the additional EU business? Delamode can offer a deferment service for a small administration charge. Obtain the UN customs code for goods you are exporting to or importing from the EU. Again, this information will be required if Customs declarations are to be completed post Brexit. Guidance can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk\/\">www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Issue an Authority for Delamode to act as a Direct Customs representative and return it to brexit@delamode-group.com.
