The transition will be undertaken in two phases.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Imports<\/strong> On the 30th September, 2022 &#8211; The option to use this procedure will end.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exports<\/strong> On the 31st March, 2023 &#8211; The option to use this procedure will end.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #034ea2;\"><strong>HM Customs &#8211; Why are they doing this?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n\u201cWe want our borders IT systems to be \ufb01t for the future and support our ambitious plans for global trade. CHIEF has served the UK well, but it is nearly 30 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #034ea2;\"><strong>Access to CDS will be on GOV.UK via a Government Gateway Account:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nCDS will o\ufb00er multifunctionality in one place &#8211; giving traders a viewing platform to access many of the reports previously sent out to them, example import and export data on pre-de\ufb01ned reports, tari\ufb00 checks, applications to apply for authorisations &amp; simpli\ufb01cations, also checks for duty deferment payments online.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #034ea2;\"><strong>Useful Checklist<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>You must have a valid EORI registration. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori\/apply-for-eori\">www.gov.uk\/eori\/apply-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori\/apply-for-eori\">for-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori\/apply-for-eori\">eori<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You must be registered to use CDS. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/get-access-to-the-customs-declaration-service\">www.gov.uk\/guidance\/get-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/get-access-to-the-customs-declaration-service\">access-to-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/get-access-to-the-customs-declaration-service\">the-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/get-access-to-the-customs-declaration-service\">customs-declaration-service<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you have a deferment account, a new direct debit will need to be created with HMRC for use with CDS.<\/p>\n<p>Customs Comprehensive Guarantee number is required on all declarations when a deferment account is being used, if you have a deferment account we will need your CCG number to update our records.<\/p>\n<p>CCG will also be required for Special Authorisations and Procedures, for example CFSP, inward processing relief.
