It has been reported that on Tuesday 24 March, a giant container ship blocked traffic across Egypt’s Suez Canal, one of the world’s busiest trade routes.
Unexpected Delays
The 400m-long ship became lodged sideways across the waterway due to strong winds, causing unexpected delays for other vessels leaving them trapped. Traffic was being diverted via Suez Canal’s older channel as a temporary measure.
Unfortunately, the delays are out of our control but our freight and customer support teams are working to identify those shipments that are expected to be impacted and are in contact with clients to keep them informed of the situation.
